French Fort Cove has a rich history filled with fact and folklore passed down through generations. From its prehistoric creation and first native settlers, to the arrival of the Europeans and the industries that shaped this part of the Miramichi River, French Fort Cove is a haven for history enthusiasts.

French Fort Cove and its settlers have survived the rise and fall of industries, war and deportation surrounding the French/British clashes of the 18th century, and the Great Miramichi Fire of 1825.
