About Us

Miramichi Landings was first conceptualized in the Miramichi Riverfront Strategic Plan dated November 1999. The aims of the plan were to strengthen the bonds between the people and the river and also to foster a stronger sense of community in the newly amalgamated City of Miramichi.

After much planning, Miramichi Landings' first phase of renovations took place at Waterford Green, Middle Island, Bicentennial Park, Vye's Beach, and Strawberry Marsh. Shoreline protection was, and continues to be, a major priority as well as highlighting local history through a variety interpretive panels at these sites.

In 2010, Miramichi Landings held community meetings and an open house to gather input from both residents and visitors in Miramichi. The ideas gathered here were molded into an interpretive action plan, outlining the future of Miramichi Landings.
